Canada's online food safety training authority since 2015.
Probe It Food Safety is a Canadian online food safety and workplace safety training authority. More than 200,000 Canadians have earned government recognized certificates through Probe It since 2015. Every course is written by Samira Ali, a Certified Public Health Inspector and member of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors. We hold a 4.9 out of 5 star rating across 1,711 verified Google reviews. We offer four certificate courses: Food Handler, WHMIS, FOODSAFE Level 1 (British Columbia), and Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
Most online food safety courses in Canada fall into one of two camps. They are either too cheap to be credible, or so expensive that working people skip them. We sit in the middle for a reason. Our prices are fair. Our content is written by a real Public Health Inspector. Our certificates are accepted by health inspectors across the country.
Three things separate us from every other Canadian provider:
Food safety is a serious topic. The training does not have to be boring or overpriced.
Certified Public Health Inspector · Member, Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI) · Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
Samira has spent more than ten years in food safety and public health work in Canada and the United States. She has carried out hundreds of food premise inspections across multiple provinces. She has trained restaurant managers, school cafeteria staff, long term care kitchen teams, grocery store food handlers, and food truck operators.
Samira writes every course on the Probe It platform. She also reviews every revision. When new regulations come out, she rewrites the affected lessons within weeks, not months. That is why our training stays current with what your local public health unit will actually be looking for in their next inspection.

That direct line to a working Public Health Inspector is what most online food safety providers in Canada do not offer.
We offer four certification courses. Every course is fully online, self paced, and gives you a digital certificate the same day you pass the final exam.
For anyone who handles food in Canada outside of British Columbia. For food workers in British Columbia. Our course covers the FOODSAFE Level 1 curriculum and is recognized by British Columbia public health authorities. The standard Food Handler Certificate does not apply in BC, so this is the version BC workers need. Price: $49.95. Time to complete: 4 to 6 hours.
