The Saskatchewan Food Safety Regulation provides all the detailed requirements for a food premises to ensure prevention of health hazards. It outlines the minimum requirements pertaining to maintenance, temperature control, sanitizing, pest control, food handler hygiene and the various daily tasks in which that food handlers are involved.

The Food Safety Regulation also highlights the requirement for mandatory certification of food handlers and is used by Public Health Inspectors during inspection.

What does the regulation say about Food Handlers Certificate?

There must be at least one person on-site who has a valid food handler certificate.

If there are 6 or more food handlers working in the food premise, then a manager or supervisor must have their food handler certificate and must be present on-site.
