Absolutely it is! Probe It Food Safety is nationally accredited, meaning our certificates are accepted and recognized by all health departments across Canada. We have issued Food Safety certificate in every province in Canada.

Yes, they cover the same training. Most provinces call it a Food Handler Certificate, while British Columbia calls it FOODSAFE Level 1. Both are valid for 5 years. The Probe It Food Safety Course is also on the BCCDC list of courses equivalent to FOODSAFE Level 1, so a certificate earned in any province is accepted in BC.

Our food safety courses are self-paced. You will have 60 days from the date of purchase to complete the course and exam. If you fail to complete the course and exam within this period, your registration will be cancelled and you will need pay a reactivation fee to unlock your account and continue from where you left off.

Yes, as long as the device has a working webcam and microphone, and the latest browser (Firefox or Chrome on Windows/Android devices, and Safari on Apple devices) you will be able to use it to take the online exam.

The exam will not start if a working webcam or microphone is not detected.

If you prepare or serve food, you need the Food Handler Certificate. If you work in British Columbia, choose FOODSAFE Level 1, the BC name for the same training. If you work with hazardous products like cleaners or chemicals, you need WHMIS. If you ship or transport dangerous goods, you need TDG. Managers and supervisors can add the Advanced Food Safety Management course.

The Food Handler Certificate is $49.95 and includes a free WHMIS certificate. WHMIS on its own is $12.95, TDG is $14.95, and the Advanced Food Safety Management course is $79.95. Every course includes the exam, unlimited free retakes, and a same-day digital certificate.

Registration takes about 30 seconds. Most people finish the Food Handler course in as little as 6 hours and the WHMIS course in about 1 hour. Your certificate downloads the same day you pass, usually within an hour.
